About crash


CRASH represents an alternative, dynamic and engaging approach to music education and exploration. Crash uses bucket drumming to tie together teamwork, creativity and fun while also learning the basics of music, composition, rhythm and drumming. our children’s program learn creativity through song writing and improvising; leadership through conducting and curriculum input; and teamwork through ensemble work and performance. As a member of the adult Crash program, participants would learn about the basics of music education, music history and percussion.

Program offerings include 1 hour sessions, School visits, Corporate team building or after school programs. Crash teaches the importance of music in a fun environment where every question is explored and all ideas are welcomed. The skills learned in CRASH benefit children already studying an instrument while offering a wonderful interactive introduction to new students of music. No matter how old or young, Everyone can benefit from CRASH!!


About Hilary

Crash director Hilary Whiskin has experience both in music and in working with people. As a recent grad to Wilfrid Laurier University’s Music (composition) and Communications Departments, Hilary has a vast knowledge of the percussion world. She has worked both in percussion ensembles and has taught music lessons for over 8 years. Hilary has also been a camp counselor, winning the Matthew Stone award for leadership excellence, as well as being the music director at Port Nelson Glee camp in Burlington. Hilary is also the founder of the Junk Line; a garbage can drum line that promotes Laurier spirit at events such as, sports games, local festivals and the 2015 PanAm games. Hilary believes that every person should have the opportunity to make music no matter what stage of life they are in. The Crash family is growing rapidly and we want you to be apart of this amazing musical experience!
